- Integrative Awakening / Living Dharma Satsang Groups -
Rather than allowing ourselves to default into the conditioning and psychological pain of our past, we practice softening our contraction and opening the heart, mind and body into the living moment—into the love, wisdom and intimacy available in the present. The past is a decent teacher. However, the direct experience of our open and undefended Heart, in the Present Moment, is an even greater teacher!
In our group meetings, through verbal dialog and direct experience, we explore the evolutionary shift from personality-based perception into soul and heart-centered awareness. Here we engage in a new Experiential Psychology of Awakening, a way of opening the heart and body, not based upon endless processing of the past, but on the direct experience of being fully intimate and open with the present.
Rather than allowing ourselves to default into the conditioning and psychological pain of our past, we practice softening our contraction and opening the heart, mind, and body into the living moment—the love, wisdom and intimacy available in the present. This new and direct experience is a choice, a practice, an exercise that leads to psychological maturation, greater freedom and awakening.
There is not enough power or information available in our past conditioning or pain to supply our present evolutionary needs. Although the past is a valid part of our totality, and is useful for a portion of our transformation, it does not fully hold what we are looking for. However, our openness, vulnerability and radical self-honesty in the present moment of aliveness can yield the dignity and empowerment we are seeking.
Through this invitation into the present moment of embodiment and aliveness, we change the evolutionary course of two very common habits: experiential avoidance and the tendency to engage in repetitive intellectual thoughts about experience, rather than actually having experience!
Using facilitation, gentle and noninvasive dialog, and the mutual, coherent communion of the Group Heart, we gently unwind issues from the past, address present evolutionary challenges, and explore the direct experience of the awakening heart, mind and body.

"I am a physician trained in Emergency Medicine, Acupuncture, Nutrition and Mind Body Medicine. My work with Neil Cohen over the last 8 months has been very valuable to me. Neil creates a safe and sacred space that allows the people he works with to trust that going deeper into their psyche is rich and valuable."
